A fabulous FREE concert of some of the best Big Band and Swing music you’ll ever hear.  School of Music Jazz Studies faculty artist Fred Radke, trumpet, leads the world-famous Harry James Orchestra, featuring vocalist Gina Funes (also a School of Music faculty artist), in a program of show-tunes, standards, love songs, and other music from the Golden Age of Swing.  Enjoy hits like “I’ve Got You Under My Skin”, “It’s Been A Long Long Time”, “Opus One”, “Two O’Clock Jump,” and many more.  Fred Radke and the Harry James Orchestra have entertained folks of all ages, at all types of venues, including intimate private parties, weddings, conventions, cruise ships, formal concerts, and international tours. The group, along with vocalist Gina Funes, performs show-tunes, standards, love songs, and music from the golden age of swing.

School of Music faculty artist Fred Radke, trumpet, is a well-known big-band conductor and authority on big-band history. A professional musician since the age of fifteen, Radke has toured extensively around the world as leader and member of the Harry James Orchestra. He has also performed as lead trumpeter with many other well-known ensembles and performers, including the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Dick Jergens Orchestra, the Modernaires, Johnny Ray, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme and numerous others.
