Pioneer Square Fire Festival
July 7, 2012, 11:00 AM
Occidental Square Park, 307 Occidental Ave S., Seattle, WA
Commemorate the rebirth of the Pioneer Square area following the Great Seattle Fire on June 6, 1889 at this family friendly event. Glimpse into Seattle’s past and see displays from the Last Resort Fire Department, the Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. History sweeps you away as you see antique and classic fire engines, classic police cars and a gold mining demonstration. Kids color pictures while sitting in the back of a 1940 fire engine. Try on firefighter gear and say hi to Smokey. www.lastresortfd.org or 206.949.4436.
