The rock legends have begun posting various messages on their official websites hinting that some special news will be revealed on Wednesday.
The first one, a note that reads "5 Days & ********," popped up Friday on RollingStones.com, as well as on the band's Facebook page and Twitter account. The message also introduced a new official live video for The Stones' 2012 single "Doom and Gloom."
This post was followed by several others that appeared on the group's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram sites showing The Stones' tongue-and-lips logo along with various messages, including "Start Me Up Wednesday," "You Get What You Need Wednesday" and "#StartMeUpWednesday is coming…" In addition, a number of these posts boasted photos of the messages being displayed in different public places, such as on a billboard sign in San Francisco and on video screens at a couple of unidentified train stations.
Each day since Friday, new messages ******** down the days until Wednesday, along with another video clip, also have been posted by The Stones.
Several sources have reported over the last few weeks that the band was planning to announce a new series of tour dates soon. ShowBiz411, for example, claimed that it had received confirmation that The Stones will be mounting an 18-date North American trek that will begin on the West Coast. We assume all will be revealed come Wednesday.
