Universal MusicElton John recently suffered an appendicitis attack that forced him to postpone two months' worth of European concert dates and festival appearances, but based on a note pop-rock star posted Thursday on his website, his fans are more concerned about his health than about having to wait to see him in concert.
"I would like to thank the literally thousands of people who have sent me get well cards and messages over the past two weeks," John writes. "Your well wishes have touched me deeply and will play a big part in my recovery."
He adds, "I cannot wait to see you all and thank you in person when I resume my concert schedule later this year. In the meantime, please know that I consider myself a very blessed man to have such caring and considerate fans." He signed the note, "With all my love, Elton."
The music legend will resume his schedule on September 2, when ***** tape a British TV special that will see him receiving the first ever Brits ICON Award. He also has a slew of dates at the Colosseum in Las Vegas lined up in September and October as part of his ongoing residency there, and, of course, his new album The Diving Board arrives on September 24.
