MemphisRocknSoul.orgJohnny Cash and influential blues guitarist Albert King are among the respected artists who'll be recognized at the second annual Memphis Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony. A total of 13 honorees will be welcomed into the institution at the event, which is scheduled for November 7 at the Gibson Showcase Lounge in Memphis. Among the other music luminaries who'll be inducted at the gala are Carla Thomas, funk-soul band The Bar-Kays, songwriter David Porter and Knox Phillips, the oldest son of late Sun Records founder Sam Phillips.

The Memphis Music Hall of Fame is overseen by the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum, a nonprofit facility developed by the Smithsonian. The initial class of inductees last year featured 25 honorees, including Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Otis Redding, Al Green, Isaac Hayes, Booker T. and The MG's, ZZ Top, The Staple Singers, B.B. King and Sam Phillips.
