Kevin Mazur/WireImageThe Who's Roger Daltrey will be receiving a special honor for his musical achievements and his philanthropic efforts this Friday at the Live U.K. Music Business Awards in London. The singer will be presented with the Outstanding Contribution award in recognition of his success with the Who, as well as his work with the Teenage Cancer Trust charity and that organization's benefit concert series.
The annual Live U.K. Music Business Awards honors various artists, professionals, events and organizations for their accomplishments within the industry. The ceremony is held during the annual Live U.K. Summit, a conference and networking forum focusing on the touring business.
Among this year's nominees are The Rolling Stones, who will be vying for two awards at the gala. The veteran rockers are up for the Spectacle of the Year (Best Production) and Best Festival Performance prizes for their concerts in London's Hyde Park this past July. Roger Waters' The Wall Tour Live show at London's Wembley Stadium also will compete for Spectacle of the Year.
