Rock and Roll Hall of FameLinda Ronstadt is a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the first time.
The museum on Wednesday morning announced 16 nominees for its class of 2014. Joining Ronstadt as first-time nominees are Peter Gabriel, YES, Hall and Oates, The Replacements, The Zombies, guitarist Link Wray, and legendary grunge band Nirvana.
Ronstadt revealed in August that she's battling Parkinson's disease, which has rendered her unable to perform.
Artists who are returning to the ballot include KISS, Deep Purple, Cat Stevens, Chic, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, The Meters, and rap acts LL Cool J and N.W.A.
You can support your favorites by logging on to RockHall.com and voting in a fan poll. The top five artists in the poll will make up a "fans' ballot" that will be counted with the other ballots to determine the inductees.
The class of 2014 will be announced in December. The induction ceremony will be held in New York next April.
This year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held in Los Angeles and honored Heart, Rush, late disco ***** Donna Summer, singer/songwriter Randy Newman, influential rap act Public Enemy and blues great Albert King.
