The series' creator, Ryan Murphy, took to Twitter early Tuesday with the big news, posting a message that reads, "Guess who's visiting the Coven? The legendary Stevie Nicks!" Nicks' rep confirmed to ABC News Radio that the Fleetwood Mac singer indeed will be featured in the show.
Throughout American Horror Story's third season, actress Lily Rabe's eccentric witch character Misty Day has expressed her admiration for Nicks, while Stevie's music also has been featured in the show.
A source who works on the program reveals exclusively to E! Online that Nicks will appear on the season's 10th episode and will play herself. The source adds that Nicks will fulfill Misty's dreams when she "comes to meet her biggest fan. And maybe sing with her."
In an interview with E! Online last month, Murphy said of the Misty character, "she is obsessed with Stevie Nicks," explaining that "she's a girl that has never known any other witches and all she's ever known is Stevie Nicks."
He also revealed that he'd reached out to Nicks, with whom he's friends, for permission to use her music. After thinking about it a bit, she agreed and Murphy reports that about eight of her songs will be heard during the season.
