Credit: Sam JonesThe Eagles have tripled the number of upcoming concerts they have scheduled in 2012.  The band has added a pair of shows at the Revel resort's Ovation Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September 1 and 2 to its tour itinerary.  Besides these gigs, the Eagles have a previously announced November 17 performance at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The September concerts will mark the group's first shows at the venue, which opened earlier this year.  Tickets go on sale Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m. ET.  In addition, a special pre-sale is being offered to American Express customers starting this Monday at 10 a.m.

No word on how many other concerts the Eagles plan to line up, although both Joe Walsh and Glenn Frey have revealed that the band is planning a special 40th anniversary tour for 2013.
