Photo: MJ KimA new TV special featuring Paul McCartney performing songs from his latest studio album, Kisses on the Bottom, will premiere on PBS stations on September 7 as part of the network's Great Performances series. Live Kisses boasts footage from the intimate concert the rock legend gave this past February at Los Angeles' Capitol Studios, where he recorded tracks for the standards collection.
McCartney's Capitol Studios set, which originally was streamed live on iTunes, captured the ex-Beatles star accompanied by many of the musicians who played on Kisses on the Bottom, including acclaimed jazz pianist Diana Krall. Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh also was on hand to contribute his talents to several tunes.
In March, audio from the same event was issued as a digital album titled iTunes Live from Capitol Studios.
Check your local listings to find out exact air dates for the Live Kisses special. A DVD of the show also is expected to be released.
