Paul McCartney Helps Serenade Gold Medal-Winning British Athletes

PaulMcCartney.comOn July 26, Paul McCartney closed out the London Olympics' opening ceremony with a rousing rendition of "Hey Jude," and this past Saturday, the Beatles legend delivered an encore performance of sorts while enjoying some of the competition's many events.

According to Yahoo! Sports, McCartney was in attendance at the Velodrome for the finale of the women's team pursuit cycling competition, which the British squad won decisively in world-record time.  In celebration, the rock star joined his fellow revelers to sing the catchy "Hey Jude" chorus.

Later that day, Sir Paul was in the stands at Olympic Stadium for the culmination of the women's heptathlon competition.  When Great Britain's Jessica Ennis secured her gold medal, he led the crowd of 80,000 in a sing-along of The Beatles' "All You Need Is Love."

In all, McCartney witnessed his home *****ry win four gold medals on Saturday.  As of Monday, Great Britain sat in third place in the overall medal *****, behind China and the United States.
