Rod Stewart's New Album to Feature Songs About "Grown-Up Problems"

Universal Music GroupRod Stewart is working on his first new album of original songs in more than 10 years, and he says the material will reflect his own personal experiences as twice-divorced dad.

The British paper The Sun quotes Stewart as saying of the new album, "I've tackled what I call grown-up problems. There are songs with advice to my kids -- and a song about divorce."  He adds, "There are hardly any ballads on it at the moment."

Stewart, a father of eight, is currently on his third marriage, to Penny Lancaster, with whom he has two young sons.  He also became a grandfather last year when his daughter Kimberly gave birth to a daughter of her own, Delilah, who's turning one this month.

According to The Sun, the album -- Rod's first collection of new songs since 2001's Human -- will be released in December.  Stewart also has a Christmas album coming out that should arrive before that disc.
