Upcoming Rolling Stones Photo Book to Feature Images from the Band's Fall 1965 Trek

Insight EditionsA photo book devoted entirely to The Rolling Stones' historic fall 1965 North American tour is scheduled to be published in October.  The 240-page book, titled The Rolling Stones: One on One Series, features a variety of images snapped by the band's one-time official photographer, Gered Mankowitz, as well as accompanying commentary from veteran rock journalist Sean Egan.

Mankowitz was only 19 years old when he was hired to document The Stones' late-1965 trek, which marked the band's first stateside visit since scoring a #1 hit with "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" that July.  Having full access to the group during the outing, the photographer was able capture the band members experiencing their initial taste of superstardom in America.

Mankowitz would go on to snap the cover photos used on The Stones' December's Children and Between the Buttons albums, in addition to taking memorable pics of such other rock stars as Jimi Hendrix, Elton John and George Harrison.

The Rolling Stones: One on One Series will be available as a trade paperback for a list price of $19.99.
