Columbia RecordsBob Dylan will help celebrate the reopening of the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, by playing the first concert at the historic venue since it was converted into a catering hall back in 1997. The gig, which was just added to Dylan's late-summer itinerary, is scheduled for September 4. The Capitol Theatre originally opened in 1926, and over the years, it's hosted performances by such stars as Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd and The Grateful Dead.
Tickets for the Dylan show go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 17, but visitors to BobDylan.com will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets starting this Monday.
Other upcoming concerts taking place at the Capitol Theatre include The Grateful Dead's Bob Weir with The Roots on September 7, The J. Geils Band on September 19, Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes on October 11 and 12, Al Green on October 25, The ***** Blues on November 27 and 28, and The Steve Miller Band on December 30 and 31.
