Robert Plant Featured on New Song by Folk-Rock Artist Amy Cook; Listen Now

RobertPlant.comIt's been a couple of years since Robert Plant has released any original music, but the Led Zeppelin frontman can now be heard on a new tune by Austin, Texas-based singer/songwriter Amy ****.  Plant lends backing vocals to "It's Gonna Rain," a song that will be featured on ****'s forthcoming album, Summer Skin, due out this Tuesday.

**** tells Rolling Stone that Plant's contribution was an impromptu one.

"Robert Plant had come to the studio with [his Band of Joy collaborator and rumored girlfriend] Patty [Griffin] and was sitting next to me in the control room and he said, 'Do you mind if I give it a go?'" recalls ****.  "I did not mind.  He sang it a couple of ***** and it was perfect."

The track currently is streaming exclusively at RollingStone.com.  Griffin, meanwhile, also is featured on Summer Skin.

In other Plant news, this past weekend the singer played his first U.S. shows with his new group The Sensational Space Shifters, on Saturday in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and Sunday in Birmingham, Alabama.  The band has only one more confirmed gig on its 2012 tour itinerary, a November 24 performance in Spain's Balearic Islands.
