Legacy RecordingsThe Cinemax action-adventure series Strike Back has offered up another taste of Bob Dylan's upcoming album, Tempest. A one-minute segment of a tune titled "Scarlet Town" was heard as the credits rolled at the end of the first episode of the show's second season, which premiered last week.
In the snippet from "Scarlet Town," an ominous-sounding folk ballad, Dylan growls the lines, "In Scarlet Town, in the hot noon hours/ There's palm lit shadows, and scattered flowers/ Beggars crouching, at the gate/ Help comes, but it comes too late./ By marble slabs, and fields of stone/ You make your humble wishes known/ I touched the garment but the hem was torn/ In Scarlet Town where I was born."
According to RollingStone.com, the song includes violin work by Los Lobos' David Hidalgo. Fans can check out an audio clip of the tune online.
Another song from Tempest, "Early Roman Kings," was given its debut as part of a trailer promoting the new season of Strike Back.
Dylan's Tempest album is due out on September 11.
