ACTIn 2003, Elton John served as a spokesperson for MAC cosmetics' Viva Glam line of lipsticks, which raises money for people living with HIV/AIDS.  Now ***** be the headline act as the upcoming MAC Viva Glam Fashion Cares fundraising gala, scheduled to take place in Toronto on September 9.

Veteran supermodel Linda Evangelista will host the evening, which, in addition to music, also will feature a runway presentation from top international designers.  Some of Elton's most iconic stage costumes also will be on display during the evening.

Many Canadian acts will join Elton on the bill, as will singer Janelle Monae, who's featured on the smash hit "We Are Young" by the band fun.  The New York-based group Scissor Sisters also will appear.

The public is invited to attend the event; tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.  Proceeds will go to Canadian HIV/AIDS foundations, as well as Elton's own AIDS foundation.
