Madonna Scores 43rd #1 Dance Hit, Close to Chart Domination Record

Facebook.com/MadonnaWith apologies to Elton John, Madonna's career seems far from over. The entertainment icon has just scored her 43rd #1 hit on Billboard's Dance chart with "Turn Up the Radio." And in the process, Billboard reports, she's one step closer to tying an all-time Billboard record.

Right now, the record for the most #1 hits on any one Billboard chart is 44, and that's currently held by legendary *****ry-music star George Strait, who's topped the Billboard Country Songs chart 44 *****. If Madonna gets one more #1 hit on the Billboard Dance chart -- a likely occurrence -- she'll tie Strait's record. If she takes two more trips to the top, she'll be the all-time leader when it come to complete domination of one particular chart.

But she probably isn't fretting over this particular milestone, since Madonna already holds the records for most #1 hits overall, on all Billboard charts combined.

Believe it or not, when you ***** them all up, Madonna has scored 156 number ones over the years, on charts ranging from Music Video Sales, to the Billboard Hot 100, to the Billboard 200 albums chart, to the Digital Songs chart, to the Adult Contemporary chart.
