Rolling Stones Insider Says Band Is Recording New Music in Paris

Rankin/RollingStones.comA new report has emerged regarding what The Rolling Stones have been doing in a Paris recording studio during the last week or so.

Longtime Stones archivist Nico Zentgraf tells U.K. newspaper The Guardian that the band members are ****** down new tracks with frequent co-producer Don Was, along with two of their longtime sidemen, keyboardist Chuck Leavell and bassist Darryl Jones.

The speculation is that rather than recording a new full-length album, The Stones perhaps are working on a few tunes that might be included in a 50th anniversary compilation that would be released in the fall.  On August 21, photographers snapped all of The Stones leaving a Paris recording facility identified as Studio Guillaume Tell, and two days later, a photo of Mick Jagger holding an electric guitar was posted on the Stones' Facebook page along with a message that read, "Had fun in the Paris studio this week!"

Meanwhile, The Stones have posted a new Facebook note announcing, "Some exciting news will be revealed next week, and a chance to win some incredibly special prizes."  The message accompanies an image of The Stones' 50th anniversary logo. If you look the logo through your smart phone, using the uView app, the promo video for the group's 2005 single "Streets of Love" is revealed.
