WhitneyHouston.comWhitney: Tribute to an Icon is the name of a Whitney Houston photo book coming this fall that will be the only official tribute to the late diva. Featuring a forward by Clive Davis, the man who signed Houston to her record deal, the book is due November 27.
Whitney: Tribute to an Icon will feature 130 images of the singer taken by 22 different photographers, all of whom donated the pictures to the project. Some pics have never been seen before, while others are outtakes from some of her iconic photo shoots.
Davis writes in his forward, "This book provides so many memorable pictures that trigger the deep emotional connection that we all had with Whitney. It's like a visual greatest hits and I know you will enjoy them, be affected by them and hopefully be touched by them always."
The book is curated by famed celebrity photographer Randee St. Nicholas, who also contributes an essay about working with Whitney. In addition, the singer's sister-in-law, Pat Houston, has written something for the book.
"In these photographs you are sharing amazing memories that reflect very special moments in the life of the extraordinary Whitney Houston, 'Nippy' to her family and also to me, as her sister-in-law and friend," writes Pat. "Without a doubt, the world was blessed by the presence of this matchless woman."
