Crosby, Stills & Nash to Perform in Support of Arizona Congressional Candidate

Photo: Elde StewartCrosby, Stills & Nash will join their voices together in support of Arizona Rep. Ron Barber, who's running for Congress in the November 6 election.  The folk-rock trio will perform at a private reception this Wednesday, September 5, at the San Anselmo Valencia Amphitheater in Tucson, Arizona, before their scheduled concert at the same venue later that evening.

This past June, Barber took over the congressional seat vacated by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was seriously injured by a  gunman at a Tucson political event in January 2011.  Barber, who was working as Giffords' deputy director at the time, also was wounded that day.  In all, the shooter killed six and wounded 18 people.

In March 2011, CSN participated in a benefit show for the Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding, a charity founded by Barber's family while he was healing from his injuries.  The organization's goal is serve to as "a living memorial to the events of January 8, 2011" and to work toward building "a community where people feel safe, are treated with dignity, and [can] work together without rancor to solve community problems."
