Keith Richards, Steve Miller Among Stars Featured on New Les Paul Tribute CD and DVD

Showplace Music ProductionsKeith Richards and Steve Miller head up a star-studded list of musicians who are featured on an upcoming album and in a companion documentary paying homage to late electric-guitar pioneer Les Paul that will be released September 11 on CD and DVD.

The Thank You Les album boasts 21 tracks featuring collaborations between longtime Les Paul Trio guitarist Lou Pallo and a wide variety of artists, including Richard, Miller, Jose Feliciano, The Young Rascals' Eddie Brigati and ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons.  The record, which also features other present and past Les Paul Trio members, boasts a selection of jazz and blues standards that Paul enjoyed.

The Thank You Les documentary captures highlights from the album's recording sessions, as well as conversations with the participating artists and vintage footage of Paul throughout his long career.  Pallo, who played with Paul for nearly 40 years, co-produced the album, while Miller penned the liner notes.  In addition to being released separately on CD and DVD, Thank You Les also will be available as CD/DVD set.

A special release party for Thank You Les is scheduled to take place this Monday at the famed Iridium jazz club in New York City, where the Les Paul Trio has hosted a weekly residency for many years.
