Alan Silfen/UMG NashvilleLionel Richie continues to reap the benefits of the smash success of his country duets album, Tuskegee. The veteran R&B crooner's updated rendition of his 1984 hit "Stuck on You," featuring Darius Rucker, has been nominated for a 2012 CMA Award in the Musical Event of the Year category. As you may remember, Rucker fronted the popular '90s pop-rock act Hootie & the Blowfish before becoming a solo country artist.
Among the other Musical Event of the Year nominees is Willie Nelson's "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die," which also features Kris Kristofferson, rapper Snoop Dogg and country star Jamey Johnson. To check out a complete list of 2012 CMA Awards nominations, visit CMAWorld.com.
ABC will air the 46th Annual CMA Awards live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on November 1 starting at 8 p.m. ET.
