Credit: Martyn AtkinsElectric Light Orchestra mastermind Jeff Lynne will participate in a special event this Wednesday in Los Angeles that will include a screening of a new documentary the multitalented musician and producer made about his long and successful career. Mr. Blue Sky: The Story of Jeff Lynne and ELO will be shown at the Grammy Museum, and Lynne will be on hand to take part in a Q&A session focusing on the flick moderated by Grammy Foundation vice president Scott Goldman.
Mr. Blue Sky features interview footage with Lynne as well as many of the musical luminaries he's worked with and befriended over the years. Among the artists also appearing in the documentary are Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Tom Petty, Joe Walsh, Monty Python star Eric Idle and George Harrison's wife and son, Olivia and Dhani Harrison.
The Grammy Museum event comes less than one month before Lynne is scheduled to release two new albums. Long Wave offers Lynne's renditions of a dozen songs that helped inform his musical tastes when he was young, while Mr. Blue Sky: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra features updated versions of many ELO classics, as well as a previously unheard tune titled "The Point of No Return." Both records are slated to hit stores on October 9.
