ESPNThe Rolling Stones have struck up a partnership with ESPN in celebration of the rock legends' 50th anniversary that will feature the band's music during Monday Night Football broadcasts, as well as in pre-game and post-game segments.
The sports network has licensed 16 Stones tracks from their upcoming GRRR! compilation that will be used to accompany promo spots during the Monday night NFL games, and in highlights clips aired on ESPN's Monday Night Countdown preview shows and on Sportcenter following the games.
The promotion, dubbed Legend to Legend, will debut this Monday and run for the entire season. Four different Stones songs will be used for four-week intervals, among them "It's Only Rock 'n Roll," "Hot Stuff" and "One Hit (To the Body)." A specially designed animated image featuring the band's famous tongue-and-lips logo has been designed as part of the campaign.
In other Stones news, the band has confirmed that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood all will attend the premiere of the band's new documentary, Crossfire Hurricane. As previously reported, the screening will take place on October 18 at the BFI London Film Festival.
