The Who's Pete Townshend Schedules Book-Signing Tour to Promote New Memoir

Harper CollinsThe Who's Pete Townshend will celebrate the publication's of his long-in-the-works autobiography, Who I Am, next month by making appearances in several U.S. cities to sign copies of the book.  On October 8, the day that the memoir hits stores, the rock legend will participate in a Q&A session at the New York Public Library.  His book tour also will include visits to stores in New York City; Boston; and Ridgewood, New Jersey; as well as a stop at a library in Philadelphia.

The 544-page Who I Am will be available in hardcover, as an eBook and as an audio book.  A description of the tome issued by the Harper Collins publishing company reveals that Townshend "wanted The Who to be called The Hair…smashed his first guitar onstage, in 1964, by accident…followed Keith Moon off a hotel balcony into a pool and nearly ****…did too much ******* and nearly ****…drank too much and nearly **** [and] detached from his body in an airplane, on LSD, and nearly ****."
