Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson will be in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, September 25, for the unveiling of their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. PT at 6752 Hollywood Boulevard outside of The Musician's Institute. Alice in Chains guitarist/singer Jerry Cantrell and bassist Mike Inez and actress Rita Wilson -- Mrs. Tom Hanks -- will be on hand to pay tribute to the hard-rocking sisters at the event.
"We are thrilled with this latest star addition as many young, aspiring female rockers look up to these legendary ladies of rock 'n' roll," says Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez.
Fans who can't make it out to the ceremony can enjoy the festivities from their home computer or via a mobile device, as the entire event will be streamed live online at WalkOfFame.com.
It's an eventful time for the Wilsons. The sisters' new memoir, Kicking and Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock & Roll, will be published this Tuesday, and Heart will release its latest album, Fanatic, on October 2. The band also is in the midst of a U.S. tour that scheduled through a November 14 concert in Richmond, Virginia. Visit Heart-Music.com to check out all of the group's upcoming dates.
