Facebook.com/MickeyHartFormer Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart has addressed allegations that he attacked an individual at a concert in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, this past Saturday, which, according to TMZ, prompted police to issue a warrant for his arrest.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Hart is accused of assaulting a person at a Mickey Hart Band show at the Terrapin Hill Farm venue. The gossip site also explained that Kentucky police automatically issue arrest warrants after an alleged victim files a police report and indicates he or she wants to press charges.
In response to the accusations, Hart has posted a message on his Facebook page that reads, "I am totally baffled by a bizarre claim of assault by me coming out of Kentucky -- the home of Bluegrass and a state I love dearly. Any accusation or claim of assault against me is completely false and without any basis whatsoever."
He adds, referring to a pair of Grateful Dead tunes, "I played drums on 'Shakedown Street,' but I never expected to be 'The Victim or the Crime.'"
