Rolling Stones' 50th Anniversary to Be Celebrated on London's Carnaby Street

Universal Music GroupThe Rolling Stones are partnering with Carnaby Street, the famous London shopping district, to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary during the upcoming holiday season.  Special public Stones-themed installations will be on display around the thoroughfare -- three-dimensional spheres that will feature gold and silver LPs boasting album covers and other images relating to the band.

In addition, Carnaby Street's trademark arches will be adorned with The Stones' classic tongue-and-lips logo.  The displays will cover the many eras of the band's half-century career.  The installations will be unveiled on November 8 and will run until January 6, 2013.

Also, a pop-up store will open on Carnaby Street that will sell the group's upcoming GRRR! compilation, as well as a variety of limited-edition Rolling Stones merchandise.  GRRR! is scheduled to be released on November 12 in the U.K. and on the following day in the United States.
