ABKCO Music & Records/Universal Music GroupThe Rolling Stones have launched a new promotional campaign for their upcoming multi-disc hits compilation GRRR! that's bringing larger-than-life versions of the gorilla featured on the album's cover to cities across the world.
Super-sized billboards featuring the smiling ape with the familiar Stones tongue and lips are appearing in more than 3,000 locations, including such famous sites as the Empire State Building in New York City, Big Ben in London, Australia's Sydney Opera House and the Skytree in Tokyo.
Fans will be able to see the gorilla come to life in 3D by viewing the ads through their smart phones while utilizing the uView App that The Stones introduced in advance of announcing the release of GRRR!
In conjunction with the initiative, The Stones are offering the chance to win a variety of prizes by participating in a new contest. To enter, take a photo of one of the animated GRRR! ads and either share them via Twitter@RollingStones or email them to GRRR@RollingStones.com. The pics will be uploaded to a special page on The Stones' official website and the best 50 photos will be awarded prizes. Two grand-prize winners also will be chosen.
GRRR! will be released on November 13.
