Photo: Michael HelmsFormer Eagles guitarist Don Felder is part of the entertainment lineup for the 2012 South-South Awards, scheduled to take place Sunday at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York City. The United Nations-sponsored event honors government officials from around the world, as well as ambassadors and various U.N. figures. The ceremony also will include performances from veteran singer/songwriter Stephen Bishop and West African pop star Angelique Kidjo.
Meanwhile, Felder also will be performing Monday at New York's famous jazz club The Iridium. The guitar whiz will be sitting in with the Les Paul Trio, which continues to play a weekly residency at the venue each Monday.
As previously announced, Felder will release a new solo album titled Return to Forever on October 9. ***** be supporting the record with a series of fall U.S. dates that kick off October 8 at the Mississippi State Fair in Jackson, Mississippi.
