Bruce Springsteen Celebrates Birthday with Mom at NJ Concert

Image credit: Danny ClinchBruce Springsteen's concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday night also served as a de facto birthday party for him.

The Boss, who turned 63 on Sunday, was presented a birthday cake on stage by his mother, Adele Springsteen, his brother-in-law, Michael Scialfa, and other family members, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The family also sang "Twist and Shout" at the odd time of 1:55 in the morning. The late birthday celebration was the result of the concert start time being postponed to 10:30 p.m. due to lightning in the area.

When the clock struck midnight, the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to Bruce. Fittingly, he followed that up with a cover of Wilson Pickett's "In the Midnight Hour."
