Al Jardine's Facebook Fans Ask Mike Love to Continue Beach Boys Anniversary Tour

Guy Webster/TheBeachBoys.comMike Love plans to leave The Beach Boys' 50th anniversary tour to perform his own Beach Boys tour with a different lineup, so Al Jardine is using his official Facebook page to support a fan request asking Love to stay on the road with Brian Wilson, David Marks, Bruce Johnston and himself.

The fan petition -- which Jardine posted to Facebook on Monday with a note saying "Please sign" -- reads, "To Mike Love, In order to preserve the validity of 'The Beach Boys' as a whole, and not as a 'money saving, stripped down version' that only contains one original member, and one member that joined in 1965, we ask you to reinstate the three other members to the touring group for your final years performing. It's the right thing to do, and it's what the fans want!"

More than one thousand people signed in the first hour the petition was posted.

The current 50th anniversary tour ends September 28 at Wembley Arena in London. Then Love plans to return to the Beach Boys pre-reunion lineup featuring Johnston. They've ****** as the Beach Boys since the late 1990s and have  one concert booked on October 5 in Waco, TX.
