Barry Gibb Launches Mythology Tour in Australia

Photo: Sayre BermanBarry Gibb is set to return to the stage, kicking off his Mythology concert tour in his native Australia early next year.  The tour starts on February 8 in Sydney followed by shows February 12 in Melbourne and February 16 in Brisbane.  He made his American solo debut last February in Miami and performed in July at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

His touring band will feature his son, guitarist/vocalist Stephen Gibb, and vocalist Samantha Gibb, the daughter of his late brother Maurice.  The only remaining member of The Bee Gees says, "As the place where we started so many years ago, we have always viewed Australia as our home so it is only fitting that we will be kicking off our 'Mythology' tour there."

According to a promoter Live Nation, tickets will go on sale Friday October 5.  That day, The Bee Gees' four disc, 81-song Mythology box set goes on sale in Australia including the group's Saturday Night Fever classics "Night Fever," "Stayin' Alive," "Jive Talkin'," and "More than a Woman."
