ZZ Top to Receive Living Legend Award at "Classic Rock" Magazine's "Roll of Honour Awards"

ZZTop.comZZ Top will receive a living legend honor on November 13 at U.K. magazine Classic Rock's 2012 Roll of Honour Awards ceremony in London.

“We're excitedly gearing up to attend the 2012 Classic Rock Awards, a celebration held in a timely manner following the long awaited release of the new ZZ disc, La Futura,” frontman Billy Gibbons tells Classic Rock. “We've stuck it out long enough to where this once unpredictable style, which has no basis other than oddness, brought us back into vogue."

Also performing at the ceremony will be Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant told the magazine, “It’s great to see the band getting noticed in the UK, Europe and beyond. I think my brother and the ones that have moved on would be proud.”

Previous recipients of the Living Legend Award include Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper.  The event, hosted by former Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, will honor acts in several categories, including Album of the Year and Best New Band.
