As previously reported, former Eagles guitarist Don Felder is releasing his second solo CD Road to Forever on October 9, 29 years after his first solo album Airbourne in 1983. The new disc is a star-studded affair, but don't expect any appearances by his estranged former band mates.
In an interview with Billboard, he says he's still frustrated by his inability to contact members of the Eagles after leaving the band in 2001. "I've reached out numerous ***** and tried to at least wind up with at least a handshake or a hug or a pat on the back, he says. "After 27 years you can't help but to have a brotherly affinity for these people. But the only response I ever get back is from the lawyers. Whether we ever walk on stage together again I doubt that will ever happen. You never say never but at this point I haven’t heard anything."
Felder will be touring in October. His new CD features David Crosby, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills, Styx's Tommy Shaw, American Idol judge Randy Jackson, Toto members Steve Lukather, David Paich and Steve Porcaro, as well as his daughter Leah Felder on the title track.
