RollingStones.comA brand-new single from The Rolling Stones titled "Doom and Gloom" will be released Thursday as a digital download via iTunes. The song is one of two new tracks that will appear on the forthcoming multi-disc compilation GRRR!, which will be released November 12 in celebration of The Stones' 50th anniversary.
"Doom and Gloom" is the first new song that the British rock legends have released in seven years. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood recorded the track recently in Paris with producer and frequent Stones collaborator Don Was. The tune will get its exclusive premiere on British radio at 2:15 a.m. ET on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the complete track listings for the various GRRR! packages have been unveiled. Visit RollingStones.com to check out the tunes that are featured on the three-CD, 50-song versions of the compilation; the five-LP, 50-tune vinyl box set; and the Super Deluxe Edition, which features 80 tracks spread over four CDs and two vinyl EPs. Among the impressive highlights of the Super Deluxe version is a bonus CD boasting five rare 1963 demos by The Stones.
GRRR! will be available for pre-order starting on Thursday, and fans reserving their copy of the retrospective will be able to download "Doom and Gloom" for free immediately.
