LIMusicHallofFame.orgJoe Butler and Steve Boone of The Lovin' Spoonful and late songwriting legend Ellie Greenwich are among the luminaries who will be welcomed into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame at a gala event taking place this Thursday in Huntington, New York. The institution's other 2012 inductees include singer/actress Connie Stevens, '80s pop star Taylor Dayne, Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider and hip-hop stars Salt n' Pepa, among others.
The bash also is slated to feature a variety of performances and guest appearances, including a musical tribute to Greenwich. Among the many stars who've signed on to participate in Hall of Fame ceremony are The Rascals' Felix Cavalieri and Gene Cornish, Lesley Gore, Gary U.S. Bonds, Mountain's Leslie West, Vanilla Fudge's Vince Martell and Charlie Daniels.
Previous inductees into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame include Billy Joel, Pat Benatar, Simon & Garfunkel, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, Eddie Money, Cyndi Lauper and Carole King.
