Larry Busacca/Getty Images for EJAFElton John loves a good party, and he's planning a humongous one to mark a very special occasion: the 50th birthday of his partner, David Furnish.
Britain's Daily Mail reports that the party will actually be a four-day celebration set to kick off Wednesday, October 24, at the couple's newly renovated Hollywood home. According to the Daily Mail, the first night will be somewhat of a housewarming party, and the next day, October 25 -- David's actual birthday -- the two will host dinner for 200 guests at the ballroom of L.A.'s historic Belasco Theater.
Friday night, the action will move to the Greystone Manor nightclub, where Cher will perform. Lady Gaga -- the godmother of Elton and David's son, Zachary -- is also reportedly going to perform at some point during the celebrations.
After that, reports the Daily Mail, guests will be driven by limo or flown by private jet to Las Vegas to see John's Million Dollar Piano show at Caesars Palace. The paper quotes a source as saying, "Elton wants this to be the party to end all parties. Money is no object."
John's own 50th birthday in 1997 was a still-legendary bash. It was held at Hammersmith Palais in London, there were 500 guests, and Elton arrived dressed as King Louis XIV, with a powdered wig so massive that it reportedly needed its own truck to transport it to the event.
