Ron Galella, Ltd./WireImageThe Rascals have added three new performances to their series of reunion shows scheduled to take place in December at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York, after the initial three dates sold out. The legendary 1960s group now will play on December 20, 21 and 22, in addition the originally announced gigs -- on December 13, 14 and 15.
The performances, dubbed "Once upon a Dream," will mark the first time in more than 40 years that The Rascals' original lineup will play together in public. The shows, which are being produced and directed by the E Street Band's Little Steven Van Zandt and lighting expert Marc Brickman, will offer fans a multimedia presentation that combines a traditional concert with archival film footage, photographs, narration and more.
Van Zandt recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money from fans to help finance the performances. To date, more than $80,000 of Van Zandt's goal of $100,000 has been donated. Contributions will be accepted until October 24.
"We are thrilled that the tickets went so fast for the first three Rascals shows," says Van Zandt in a statement. "The success of the Kickstarter campaign confirms the enthusiasm of the audience, not only wanting to see this historic band, but wanting to actually participate in the production."
Tickets for the newly announced shows will go on sale on Friday at noon ET at TheCapitolTheatre.com.
