Rankin/RollingStones.comFor fans wondering what songs The Rolling Stones might be planning to play at their upcoming 50 and ******** Tour dates in London and New Jersey, the band has shared an apparent set list via Twitter.
The Stones uploaded a photo of a handwritten list of 23 tunes, including many of the group's memorable hits, a selection of popular album tracks and a few classic covers that the band recorded early in its career. Among the many well-known songs on the tally are "Honky Tonk Women," "Tumbling Dice," "Ruby Tuesday," "Start Me Up," "Miss You" and "Paint It Black." Nearly all the tunes appearing the sheet are featured on the band's upcoming GRRR! compilation. Perhaps surprisingly, the two brand-new Stones songs on the album, "Doom and Gloom" and "One More Shot," don't appear on the list.
In an interview with the U.K.'s Evening Standard, Mick Jagger reveals that The Stones have been rehearsing about 60 songs for the upcoming shows. He also reports that the band has "been in touch" with ex-bassist Bill Wyman with regard to making a guest appearance at the London gigs.
The singer also admits that he and his band mates haven't been taking the group's 50th anniversary all that seriously.
"I think the Rolling Stones are kind of quite irreverent about it in a way," he tells the Evening Standard. "We joke about it really.
He adds, "I think it kind of feels like a bit of a f*** off moment to be honest, and I don't think we've laughed at it enough. I think one of the reasons is that we don't really believe that amount of time has gone by so quickly, and here we are, still here."
