Photo: Joseph GuayElton John is as famous for his outrageous wardrobe as he is for his music, but at a recent charity event, he actually apologized to the crowd for dressing down.
The New York Post reports that at "An Enduring Vision," the Rocket Man's annual benefit for his AIDS Foundation, the singer wore a simple black suit. Why? As he explained to the star-studded crowd, he'd left his famous rhinestone jacket in L.A. by mistake. And when he tried to rectify the situation,John says, he got caught in a bad game of Telephone.
According to Elton, he called his housekeeper and told her to find "the rhinestone jacket in the cupboard and mail it" to him. It didn't arrive, and then the housekeeper emailed back, "There is no jacket designed by Ryan Stone in the cupboard."
Instead, John offered the crowd his "sartorial apologies" for his toned-down ensemble.
