Dionne Warwick Marks 50 Year Career; Revisits Bacharach & David-Penned Hits on New Album

Blue HorizonDionne Warwick is celebrating her 50th anniversary in the music business with a new album featuring updated renditions of some of her classic hits that were penned by the legendary songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and the late Hal David.  Scheduled for a November 6 release, Now offers 12 tracks, including new versions of "I Say a Little Prayer," "(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me," "Make It Easy on Yourself" and others.

Warwick also asked Bacharach and David to each choose two songs from their work with other collaborators for her to record for the project.  Among these were David's "99 Miles from L.A.," which was co-written with Albert Hammond, and Bacharach's "Love Is Still the Answer," penned with Tonio K.

The new take on "I Say a Little Prayer" includes duet vocals by Warwick's son David Elliott.  She also rerecorded her 1965 top 40 hit "Are You There (With Another Girl)" at the request of her friend Stevie Wonder.

"These songs are like my children," says Warwick.  "I love them all and I treat them all the same way, with a great deal of respect.  Fifty years later, I bring a little more maturity and meaning to them."
