BlastMusicThe sun may have set on The Beach Boys' successful and critically acclaimed 50th anniversary tour, but fans can relive some of the trek's many highlights on a new concert video that will be released as a DVD and Blu-ray next month. Hitting stores on November 20, The Beach Boys: Live in Concert -- 50th Anniversary Tour will feature 21 performances from the band's reunion outing, which ran from April until September.
Like the shows, the video features a career-spanning selection of Beach Boys tunes. The flick includes classic hits like "Good Vibrations," "California Girls," "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "Help Me Rhonda"; more obscure gems such as "Hawaii" and "Marcella"; and the title track to the group's new album, That's Why God Made the Radio.
"The Beach Boys 50th Anniversary tour meant so much to me personally," says Brian Wilson in a statement. "Performing with the guys again was an absolute thrill. I'm so glad we captured it on film so that everyone, whether you were there or not, will be able to see what an historic event it was."
Adds Mike Love, "This DVD captures the tour brilliantly and marks an important, iconic moment in time in our band's history. It's a moment I am deeply proud of."
