SimpleManCruise.comGood news for Lynyrd Skynyrd fans planning to set sail from Miami this Saturday on the band's sixth annual Simple Man Cruise. Despite Hurricane Sandy's close brush with the Florida coast, the rocking musical voyage will still go on, although not exactly as planned.
Because of the storm's aftereffects, cruise organizers have had to revise the itinerary. The journey will leave from and return to port on the same scheduled days -- Saturday and Wednesday, respectively -- although instead of visiting Key West, Florida, and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas, the ship only will make one stop, at Cozumel, Mexico.
A message on the cruise's official Facebook page reads, "We know you were all excited about Key West and Great Stirrup Cay and we appreciate your understanding. We have certainly learned one thing over the past six years with this family. It's always about the Journey."
In addition to several performances by Lynyrd Skynyd, this year's event also will feature music from The Doobie Brothers, The Outlaws and many other bands. Visit SimpleManCruise.com for more details.
