The arrest is in connection with investigations alleging former UK radio and TV star Sir Jimmy Savile ***ually abused some 300 young people over a period of 40 years. Saville, who was knighted by The ***** in 1990, **** on October 29, 2011 at age 84
The 68-year-old Glitter, born Paul Gadd, was jailed for child *** offenses in Vietnam in 2006 and served nearly three years in prison there. He is the first person to be ******** in connection with the suspected Savile abuse cases, which police say now has 400 lines of inquiry open.
Under the name Gary Glitter, Gadd enjoyed mainstream success in the '70s with hits such as “Rock and Roll (Parts 1 and 2)” and “I’m the Leader of the Gang (I Am).”
