RobertPlant.comLed Zeppelin fans will get the chance to hear frontman Robert Plant on a new album next year. According to NME, the singer revealed in a recent interview that he's contributed vocals to tracks that will appear on a new recording project by veteran alternative rock act Primal Scream.
Plant tells Mojo magazine, "I sang a bit on the Primals stuff because I think their references on looking back on the glorious past and the way they bring them into the contemporary world are fantastic."
It's not the first time the rock legend has collaborated with the Scottish band -- Plant played harmonica on a tune titled "The Lord Is My Shotgun" from the group's 2002 album Evil Heat.
Regarding his interest in working with other artists, Plant explains to Mojo, "Everything [Led Zeppelin] did back in those days and everything I have done since has been based on a fresh approach…What can I be as a singer that doesn't play much? That's how I see everything: What can I be a part of that's exciting? And if anybody's got any ideas then I'm always up for it."
Plant currently is sharing his fresh musical approach with his new group The Sensational Space Shifters, which are in the middle of a South American tour. Audio downloads from all of the shows on the trek are available for purchase at LiveDownloads.com. The Sensational Space Shifters' South American tour runs through a November 9 concert in Lima, Peru, and the band also has a November 12 show in Mexico City and a November 24 gig in the Balearic Islands.
