New Official Bootleg of 1969 Jimi Hendrix Experience Show Available for Pre-Order

Dagger RecordsA recording of a January 1969 concert by The Jimi Hendrix Experience in Cologne, Germany, is available now for pre-order as the 12th release in the late guitar great's official bootleg series.  The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live in Cologne can be purchased exclusively as a two-LP vinyl set via Hendrix's online store.

The album includes performances of such Hendrix classics as "Foxey Lady," "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)," "Fire" and "Purple Haze," as well as a rendition of the virtuoso's mind-bending reimagining of "The Star Spangled Banner."  Also featured are a cover of Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love" and a version of "Hey Joe" into which Hendrix cleverly incorporates a riff from The Beatles' "I Feel Fine."

The Hendrix family label, Dagger Records, notes that since the source of the album is a amateur monophonic tape, the recording "is not without various technical flaws and sonic limitations."  Fans buying Live in Cologne also will be given access a free digital download of the record.
