The Icons & Idols Rock 'n' Roll auction will take place December 1 and 2 at the Beverly Hills gallery of Julien's Auctions, while bids also will be accepted online.
Among the Fab Four collectibles being sold at the event is a rare "first state" copy of the band's Yesterday and Today album featuring the infamous "butcher cover"; a U.S. dollar bill signed by all four Beatles; and a group of negatives from the Abbey Road photo sessions.
Meanwhile, in addition to guitars signed by Santana, May and Browne, the sale also includes instruments that have been either played or autographed by Elvis Presley, John Fogerty, Robert Plant, Alice Cooper and Sting. Also, the auction is offering clothing items worn by John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Meat Loaf, James Brown and many others. In all, more than 450 items will be up for bid. Proceeds raised by the sale of many of the collectibles will benefit various charities supported by the artists.
The items will be viewable to the public at the Julien's Auctions gallery from November 19 to November 30. For more information, visit JuliensAuctions.com.
