Legacy RecordingsBlue Öyster Cult was supposed to play a show commemorating its 40th anniversary at New York City's Best Buy Theater on Sunday, October 28, but it was postponed because of Hurricane Sandy. The concert has been rescheduled for this Monday night, and the band has announced that the event will be particularly special because Blue Öyster Cult's entire original lineup will be performing together.
Founding lead singer Eric Bloom and singer/guitarist Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser, who continue to play with the group, will be joined on stage by keyboardist/guitarist Allen Lanier, bassist Joe Bouchard and drummer Albert Bouchard at the gig. The show also will celebrate the release this past week of Blue Öyster Cult -- The Columbia Albums Collection, a 17-disc box set featuring CD editions of all 14 albums that the band released on Columbia Records, as well as two rarities collections and a DVD version of the 1978 concert video Some OTHER Enchanted Evening.
Blue Öyster Cult has a number of other shows on its upcoming itinerary. Check out all the band's dates at BlueOysterCult.com.
